The Akal Takht proclaimed Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as the 'Guru dokhi' or Guru’s adversary and anti-Khalsa Panth. This decision followed a review of a video allegedly showing Mann sprinkling alcohol on a photograph of Sikh Gurus. The Takth stated that the Punjab government ignored objections and that Mann's public statements challenged its authority, leading to further actions by the clergy. Akal Takht Acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj declared Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann as 'Guru Dokhi' and 'Khalsa Panth Virodhi' following a gathering where a controversial video was shown. Gargaj asserted the video was authentic and featured Mann, despite claims of manipulation. The AAP countered, alleging this was a conspiracy by the Badal group to defame the CM, highlighting political tensions. Bhagwant Mann responded to the Akal Takht Jathedar's declaration of him as 'Guru Dokhi' and 'Khalsa Panth Virodhi' regarding a viral video. Mann asserted that the person in the footage did not resemble him, claiming he was being defamed. He expressed disappointment over what he saw as a propaganda campaign using religion for political ends, alleging targeting due to his government's policies on water and agriculture. Bhagwant Singh Mann rejected the Akal Takht edict, asserting that the person in the controversial video was not him. Mann claimed political masters behind the allegations are defaming him, stating officials are serving their political bosses. He expressed surprise that those in high positions use Sikh religion for political gains against his work for Punjab's welfare.
