Human Rights Body Seeks Reports on Child Abuse Cases
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought reports from Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh regarding alleged abuse, including a case involving medical negligence leading to vision loss. Separately, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) launched a suo motu probe into alleged physical abuse at a daycare center within Capgemini's Bengaluru campus, following viral videos showing severe mistreatment of toddlers. Police have made arrests in the Bengaluru case, and the facility has been temporarily shut down. The KSCPCR recommended uniform regulations for daycare centers across Karnataka.
