Russia Strikes Kill Dozens in Kyiv Before NATO Summit
Russia launched missile and drone attacks on Kyiv, killing at least 10 to 26 people across the capital and surrounding regions, just ahead of a NATO summit. The attacks involved ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones, hitting residential buildings and infrastructure. Ukrainian officials, including President Zelenskyy, stressed the urgent need for Western support, particularly for Patriot air defense systems, citing critical shortages that leave Ukraine vulnerable to ballistic strikes. Russia claimed its strikes targeted military-industrial enterprises, while Ukraine noted the difficulty in defending against hard-to-intercept missiles.
