Budget 2026 will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1. The old income tax regime is set to be replaced by a new one. The new tax regime will include deductions for medical insurance premiums and maintenance of dependent persons with disabilities. Tax buyback for all shareholder to be treated as capital gain. Promoters will have to pay 10% higher rate to disincentivise misuse. Any foreign company that gives cloud services from India will have to provide services to Indian consumers through a reseller. Tax proposals are expected in the second half or Part B of the Finance Minister Niramal Sitharaman’s speech.
